Baby girl, O baby girl, let me know please!: A poem

Baby girl, may I ask you why,

the lecherous pies are flying high?

And the fairies have disappeared from the sky?

Their wands have lost their dye?

And hobgoblins are running nigh?

The stars are drooping away, turning loose

in the night, amid evil’s ruse

And what can they prefer to choose

when I only dare to lose?

Baby girl, can you put up the collage for me

to tell me what specs you wear, so I can see?!

I just thought we need to be free

But we seem like shipwrecks in the sea!

I feel there’s more than checkmate against me in the breeze!

Look, all my armies may lose their fires, and end up in the deep-freeze!

Blame it on Albanese!

He is gossamer and dirty grease

and stinks of stale cheese!

I did die, all the time for you all, so that you all don’t decease!

But what am I supposed to do now at the crease?

I am growing old as a relic, but have I a reliquary of tirelessness, if you please?!

Baby girl, do you still want me to shake up all the trees?

There is no singularity, and I ask you if there are even twos and threes?!

Am I, after all my struggles against treachery, going to have to succumb to evil’s infectious disease?

Am I going to have to end up on my knees?
