How to be wise and kind?!: A poem

I read a poem that advised me:

Be wise with your words, be kind!

Be generous! You know, easier

said than done. And if you want

to flay candour! That there is honesty

to resort to for the one who wants to

own officious bluntness! Or do you care

for the trifle blandness of banter that

suits everyone and goes no distance?!

Would you like to be the magnanimous

maverick who accepts the wisdom of

taking the onus of being called cruelly

selfish, when he is by all yardsticks

the kindest soul in the world? Who pauses

to perceive the perspicacity of this potentate

of tyrannical posturing (as he is calumnised

as such)?! Men who prefer to be hated for truth

rather than be loved for hypocrisy?! And you know,

today, the Occident is divided, as much as the Orient is!

Why are fences being put up and bigotry being

resurrected, if not to waylay the evil that wishes to stamp

itself on a preemptively Pacifist world, where justice

has failed? Righteousness must not be judged

if its treachery is meant to treason evil!

The media thinks it can judge and deliver

every kind of judgement through its thick-lensed

Impervious, occluded eyes?! If it would only

remember to get pricked by its own conscience!

The foolish charade is in the media that calls out

the Fool (wise persons’)’s parade! A war makes

more sense when it stumps the foray of evil!

We may let an Age fall, but are we going to let

ourselves fall to a New Age, which could be as bad?!

Or should we let our honesty and integrity take us

some place else?
