Emily Dickinson, I don’t feel right about you!: A poem

Did I pluck out the moon from the sky and fling it away

in my revelatory dreams; that you should

all feel taken aback by my faint soliloquy and fortitude

and have your eyeballs scorching me like hostile Suns?!

You know, Emily Dickinson wrote about the Moon

being distant from the tide, but yet being a paramour of the sea

I seem to desist from…..…I beseech my True Love

to be neither Moon or Tide. Neither do I.

What does that leave me with…an empty space?

The convulsion of people all around me

wishing that an asteroid fall over me and strike me down!

What would the Earth be, without my resistance?

Ask yourselves that question in all honesty and earnestness?

I’d rather go! No, I’d rather go!

Familial (sibling) ink leads me to nothing but my own downfall,

And yet how thick is blood, is it an amenable deluge?

I am wont to dispute amenability, even if I am considered an audacity!

I am in an evening of predicament and life, still in grief, and yet, smiling at the uncertainties

in spite of everything I am evocative of putting me at risk of deportation

I take heart from the many bravehearts who have gone before!

Would I prove to exhibit my own distance? Yes, though, I’d rather go!

Far away from the cacophony of mendacious motives and

gluttonous vested interests, besieging my every call!

Yes, I‘d rather go! Because I am the only being in this world,

that is rock solid, and I’d rather go (!), before I am despicably dissipated by the hypocrisy of you all!
