Let me be in the light I wish to perceive!: A poem

You know I feel the moonlight dripping all over me

like the sweat of a toiler  on a hot afternoon

even when the clear sky talks of winter cold!

So sometimes I feel the damp squibs running

helter-skelter like rats in a sewer. I am not belied,

I am not liveried by falsehoods, and I am not afraid

of being tormented and traumatised for my self-expression!

There are contours of lands and spaces I can witness,

through the scant diaspora who still revere their origins

(thank you), even if my winless apartment at No. 11

holds on to the windows of my soul, and asks me to remember

that I did duty in  selflessness for all without expecting anything

in return, even though fully knowing some entities didn’t deserve that

duty, leave alone forgiveness, and should it linger on their conscience?!

You know, God never expects his self-effacing generosity to be returned

with any of your mutuality of charity! What kind of autonomy do you

all want to attain, then?! A revelry in ingratitude? There are people who

should be suffering for their crimes, and don’t want to! I

have an extremely long list of my sufferings that even Santa would

desist from  reading (for all his intrepid empathy) for fear of prolonged depression!

And I have epilogued the entire written work with a smile! For is it not for

you all that I donned an eternal pilliory? I am feeling the poor artwork of this

cubist but comfortable  No. 11 apartment redesign my soul each day to have you

all attempt a dawn of Rennaisance, to reinvent passion for the sake

of truth and justice and not convenience. Would you reflect that you are being

babysit by evil? Can then the living room of Earth be blamed for being cruel to

seek your repentance? You know that any estimation of propriety needs virtuosity

to be esteemed! Can we let the cruelty of kindness to be deprecated by evil’s cruel kindness?

I think of duty in all its pre-eminence! Is forgiveness a duty? Should it not be left for the

biggest victim of all time and history (but with an everlasting smile) – me – to decide on that?
